Baptist Health Partners with Bright.md to Improve Access to Care

PORTLAND, Ore. — April 20, 2021 — In a move to improve patient experience and care delivery, Kentucky-based Baptist Health has partnered with Bright.md, the leading digital health company transforming the patient-provider experience. Through this partnership, patients in Kentucky and southern Indiana will have access to high-quality, evidence-based care along with automated clinical intake and documentation.

“We’re in a critical moment for the healthcare industry, and we’re now taking lessons we’ve learned from the pandemic to meet the challenges of the future — including the importance of a virtual care strategy that is beneficial for our patients and for our clinical teams,” said Brett Oliver, MD, Baptist Health’s chief medical information officer. “Patient experience and efficiency are top of mind, which is why we’re excited for our partnership with Bright.md. Together, we’ll build upon Baptist Health’s mission of providing innovative, quality care to the people of Kentucky and southern Indiana.”

With this partnership, Baptist Health can expand its e-visit offerings from six common medical conditions to up to 31 potential problems. The patient completes an online questionnaire, answering inquiries about the reason for the virtual visit, personal information, health history, medications, and allergies. That information is then given to a healthcare provider to assess and make a diagnosis. Medical conditions now assessed through an e-visit include cough, red eye, sinus issues, urinary infections, and COVID-19/flu screening.

Baptist Health selected Bright.md because of its robust and existing Epic electronic health record integrations, and its intuitive smartphone-enabled solutions. The largest not-for-profit health system in Kentucky, Baptist’s network of more than 1,100 physicians and advanced practice clinicians, nine hospitals, and more than 350 outpatient facilities and services will soon be equipped with Bright.md’s solution to improve care delivery.

With its pioneering technology, Bright.md provides seamless, high-quality patient and provider experiences. These capabilities have been improved through the company’s new platform which works to solve many of the most pressing issues facing the healthcare industry today. With expanded functionality, clinical content, and offerings, the Bright.md platform integrates its signature pre-visit interviews and asynchronous treatment with navigation to guide patients to optimal care based on their symptoms and preferences.

“We’re thrilled to partner with Baptist Health to expand upon our shared vision of transforming care delivery through innovation,” said Steve Giannini, CEO of Bright.md. “We look forward to helping improve access to care for more people throughout Kentucky and southern Indiana, and are ready to get to work with the stellar providers and executives at Baptist Health to help them reach their goals.”
