December 8, 2021 — For common medical conditions like ear infections, rashes, or the flu, patients in Kentucky and southern Indiana now have on-demand access to Bright.md’s evidence-based care at their fingertips to help them get the quality care they trust from Baptist Health, 24/7.
Baptist Health’s eVisits, which help bridge gaps in patient access, have been bolstered by its rollout of Bright.md, the leading asynchronous telehealth solution transforming the patient-provider experience. An eVisit is a type of virtual care in which patients answer questions about their symptoms via an online medical interview that adapts based on their responses. Available on your phone or computer, eVisits allow for faster online care. A pool of highly-qualified, licensed Baptist Health providers review questionnaire results and provide a diagnosis and treatment plan.
With Bright.md’s solution, Baptist Health expands its eVisits offerings from six common medical conditions to 25, including coughs, pink eye, sinus issues, urinary infections, and COVID-19/flu screening. Baptist patients can begin an eVisit powered by Bright.md to answer questions by visiting the website here.
“In just the few weeks since we launched Bright.md to our community, we’ve seen more patients take advantage of our eVisits, a new and easy way to receive medical attention for select minor conditions. We’ve seen impressive results, especially in the time it takes for our providers to deliver care with the solution,” said Brett Oliver, MD, Baptist Health’s chief medical information officer. “Bright.md‘s technology is evidence-based and consistent, integration into our Epic medical record is seamless, and we’ve seen strong patient and provider satisfaction.”
“This partnership came at a great time, as patient experience and operational efficiency are absolutely critical to help us move through the pandemic, while advancing our mission of providing innovative, quality care to the people of Kentucky and southern Indiana,” added Dr. Oliver.
As part of this partnership, Baptist Health has also launched Bright.md’s new Navigate solution as a care finder directing patients to the right venue of care based on their symptoms, directly through Baptist Health’s website or MyHealth App.
Navigate asks patients to answer a few questions about their symptoms and links them directly to the recommended next step configured by Baptist Health—whether that be starting an on-demand asynchronous appointment, searching for a primary care provider, or going to an urgent care clinic.
“When we were considering how to drive efficiencies and meet changing patient expectations to keep them coming back for all of their care needs, Navigate by Bright.md really exceeded our expectations in terms of configurability, ease-of-use, and the breadth of conditions covered,” explained Dr. Oliver. “This new Care Finder is critical to make sure we’re not only getting more people access to care, but getting them to the right level of care to meet their needs as quickly as possible.”
The largest not-for-profit health system in Kentucky, Baptist Health’s network of more than 1,500 physicians and advanced practice clinicians, nine hospitals, and more than 350 outpatient facilities and services are now equipped with Bright.md’s solution to improve care delivery and drive efficiencies throughout the system.
“Working closely with the Baptist Health team through implementation really reinforced how aligned we are in our commitment to transforming care delivery through innovation,” said Steve Giannini, CEO of Bright.md. “We’re excited to see we’re already helping to make an impact, especially to get more people access to the quality care they need, and we look forward to expanding upon our partnership with Baptist and their community.”
