Ann Mond Johnson, CEO of the American Telemedicine Association, shared the top seven myths about telehealth at last week’s Telehealth19 in Atlanta. A few that we’d be happy to see go away (and doing our part to dispel): “Telehealth is not high quality,” “Telehealth is a threat to providers,” and “Telehealth is only synchronous communication.”
Why do we keep piling on to physician and nurse’s workloads? One answer might be because their professional ethic, drive to do the right thing, and desire to care for people seems endless, leaving them incapable of saying no. High numbers of caretaker burnout is the inevitable result.
