Staffing, staffing, staffing—that’s what’s top of mind for UnityPoint Health’s Managing Director Matthew Warrens. But this isn’t a new issue for the organization, along with many others across the U.S. Even prior to the Covid-19 pandemic, health systems faced a looming shortage of clinicians and healthcare professionals, and today, that shortage is becoming a harsh reality.
But according to Warrens, the motto at UnityPoint Health has and continues to be, “What can we be doing to extend the reach of providers?” Enter Bright.md. Created by clinicians, for clinicians, our asynchronous telehealth platform has helped Warrens and his team push their “digital first” mentality, while promoting innovation in more ways than one throughout the organization.
“Why Bright.md? It comes down to our clinical decision makers asking questions around whether or not the solution was created by clinicians, and if it’s been clinically validated by clinicians,” said Warrens. “And both of those things are at the root of Bright.md. This isn’t Google…[Bright.md] is a trusted source, managed by providers, and that’s an important aspect.”
Additionally, Warrens is excited for not just how they’re currently using the platform, but also future potential uses of asynchronous capabilities throughout their organizational ecosystem. “We believe we can put it in front of a lot of different processes. It comes down to efficiency for providers and convenience for consumers.”
