Bright.md, a downtown Portland startup that hopes to make medical care more efficient, said Monday it has raised $8 million in its second round of funding.
The venture firm B Capital Group led Monday’s investment, joined by prior investor Seven Peaks Ventures. Bright.md has now raised $11.5 million altogether, including a $3.5 million round two years ago.
Bright.md says its technology can make the time doctors and patients spend together more productive, enabling medical practices to see more patients and treat them more rapidly. Its technology interviews patients online to gather information on a patient’s condition.
Bright.md says it will spend its new capital developing artificial intelligence software and increasing its marketing.
Also Monday, Bright.md said its SmartExam software is available to Oregon patients through Adventist Health.
